Can I use Surf Language for free?
Yes. You can create an account and start learning for free in your browser. No credit card is required to begin.
What languages can I learn?
You can learn English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Chinese and Japanese.
Which levels are available?
Learning is organised around CEFR levels from A1 (beginner) through C2 (proficient), so you always know where you are and what comes next.
Can I start if I already know some of the language?
Yes. Choose the CEFR level that matches your current knowledge, or pick a starting point based on what you already know.
How long does a lesson take?
Lessons are designed to fit into everyday life — often around ten minutes, depending on the topic and how you practise.
Can I learn more than one language?
Yes. One account can open several languages, pause them or pick them up again whenever you like.
Does Surf Language teach pronunciation?
Yes. You can listen to words and expressions so you become more comfortable with how the language sounds.
How do quizzes work?
After lessons you practise with interactive exercises such as multiple-choice and true/false, so you can check what you've learned.
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. When you successfully complete a CEFR level in Surf Language, you can receive a Surf Language Level Completion Certificate for that language and level. These certificates recognise completion within the Surf Language learning platform. They are not a replacement for official language proficiency examinations or externally accredited qualifications.
Can I use Surf Language on my phone?
Yes. You can learn in a mobile browser today. Dedicated iOS and Android apps are coming soon.
Is Surf Language available on iOS and Android?
Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon. Until then, start learning for free on the web at app.surflanguage.com.
Can I change my learning goal later?
Yes. You can update your goal, daily study time and level from your account settings as your needs change.
