Can I start for free?
Yes. Create a free account and start learning. You can use Surf Language in the browser, or download it from the App Store and Google Play.
Which languages can I learn?
This site lists 25 languages. Open the Languages page and choose one. A language in the menu is only for reading these pages. It is not a lesson, and it does not mean the app menus are in that language.
Are all CEFR levels full?
Lessons are organised from A1 to C2, and you choose a starting level. This website does not list every lesson, so it does not claim that every level is already published for every language.
Can I start if I already know some of the language?
Yes. Choose the level that matches what you know.
How long is a lesson?
Lesson length depends on the topic and how quickly you work. You can start with a short lesson and continue with others when you have more time.
Can I study more than one language?
Yes. One account can keep more than one language.
Do I get a certificate?
If you finish a CEFR level in Surf Language, you can receive a Level Completion Certificate for that language and level. It records completion inside Surf Language. It does not replace an official language exam.
Can I listen to pronunciation?
Yes, for languages that already have lessons. You can hear words and phrases.
How do the exercises work?
After the words, you practise with exercises such as multiple choice or true or false.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. You can use Surf Language in the browser, or download it to your phone from the App Store and Google Play.

Is Surf Language suitable for primary school students?
Yes, as extra practice. If the language is new, start at A1 or A2. Lessons stay short, and word games need no account. It is the same app, not a separate children's course.
Can I prepare for a language exam?
For English, yes. There is prep for TOEFL and IELTS: topic lessons and practice questions. The questions are practice material, not the official exam papers, and Surf Language is not a partner of the exam organisations. Other languages on this site do not have exam-specific prep. The other languages have a page for their own official exams. That page describes the exam. It is not a prep course in the app.
